Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: firefox
When opening a PDF from a website, Firefox 3 does not open the file
directly inside the web browser. The file must be downloaded by the user
and opened with Document Viewer. Instead, Document Viewer / Firefox
should allow PDFs to be opened inside the browser without the user
needing to download the file and then open it separately.
This should be addressed because when users want to quickly view a PDF
on a website, having to download and save PDFs onto the file system adds
an extra step to the process. Downloading the file also means that the
user is left with a PDF cluttering up their computer. Allowing PDFs to
be browsed from within Firefox would speed up internet browsing and
would mirror the behaviour of Firefox other operating systems.
** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
