Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: firefox
I've set a SOCKS proxy ( ssh to another machine ) in System ->
Preferences -> Network Proxy with the rest ( HTTP etc. ) empty.
However, with Firefox set to "Use system proxy settings" I cannot browse
the web, I get completely blank pages. If I configure the SOCKS proxy
directly in Firefox, it works.
It seems that Firefox is ignoring that fact that the http proxy from
GNOME is empty and ignoring the SOCKS field.
** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
