I am experiencing frequent kernel panics using jaunty, always occurring
when performing some action in firefox - it could be downloading a file,
or opening a new tab, or watching a flash movie.  The Caps Lock light
starts flashing and the whole screen freezes up, and I have not been
able to recover the computer from this state without a power-off.
