** Description changed:

gnome-panel, metacity (when using alt-tab) and xfce analogs are affected.
After some investigation made on Russian Ubuntu Community Forum ( http://forum.ubuntu.ru/index.php?topic=53913.0;all ) statistics are: Situation occurs in both 8.10 and 9.04 beta, on 32 and 64 bit systems, roughly on 75% of users' machines when using gnome and xfce.

  Steps to reproduce:
Open Firefox, go to http://blog.oup.com/2009/03/science-fiction/ and watch the panel die, try alt+tab until focus on browser window, metacity will crash too.
This web page contains some symbols in it's title between "Fiction" and ":"
When this title transfers to firefox window title, crash happens.

Two title code variants contained in attached file and also in this message: http://forum.ubuntu.ru/index.php?topic=53913.msg396111#msg396111
- first is with symbols between "Fiction
-
- " and ":", second is without. This code pieces can be used to reproduce bug in case of changes in original web-page that caused the bug.
