Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

This happened after an upgrade from Ubuntu 8.10 to 9.04 beta.

Youtube videos and sites with embedded Youtube videos will load a bit
slowly and the smooth scrolling will lag. Playing a video will have
garbled grey boxes show up in the video for about 3 seconds from the
start and then clear up.

Choosing High Quality or HD Video options will either make the video
continue with sound and garbled, frozen video or simply not play at all.
Rarely if the High Quality button is hit before the first second of the
video plays, it will actually work, but then the sound is delayed about
1 second from the video on screen.

The bar on the bottom of Youtube videos is slightly messed up: the
Pause/Play and Volume Control buttons are slightly bolded.
