I confirm this bug too.

I am running Ubuntu Intrepid 8.10 on a thinkpad. Intel graphics card and
firefox 3.0.8 with mouse gestures redox 2.0.3 extension.

The bug occurs when LEFT clicking on a menu and triggers the first menu
item. That is when i left-click on file menu a new firefox window opens,
or when i click the bookmarks menu it shows the "page bookmarked" window
and so on.

what i have noticed about this bug is that it is relatively new, perhaps
some weeks or a month old.
