Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: firefox-3.0
I have reported this bug before but somebody failed to do their homework
and probably marked it as invalid because they said I had extensions
installed that where interfering with firefox processes. I have been
unable to locate the original bug report for some reason in launchpad
doing searches.
I have just retested Ubuntu 9.04 RC1 desktop on live distro and found
the bug still exists still exists in firefox 3.0.8. Also this distro is
running under Sun VirtualBox 2.2.
Here is how.
Just run firefox 3.0.8 in any Ubuntu 9.04 and create a new toolbar. Next just add a single icon like history. If you don't do this the toolbar will vanish. Now close the dialog box. Now right click on the toolbar and uncheck to new toolbar. Next exit out of firefox and restart. You will notice that the toolbar reappears on bootup. This behaviour is not desirable.
I have also been able to recreate the bug under windows xp which is
hosting the Virtualbox session.
