I hope this Problem is Solved in Ubuntu Jaunty Jackalope.. its a real pain; i've been having this problem on and off all year  long with Ubuntu 8.10 on a Desktop P.c and it very annoying an frustrating waiting for Firefox  to come back after going dim.
I think its a Flash or Java Problem it tends to happen on heavy Java or Flash Animation Social Networking Websites
