I just discovered that the New Wave theme comes with a userChrome.css
included to fix this issue.

You can find it in the directory: /usr/share/themes/New Wave
(note the space in the directory name).

You just have to copy it to the right place (~/.mozilla/firefox/<profile
name>/chrome).
