Same problem here - also defaults to ClamTk for opening images and other
attachments. Save as is available, but annoying when I just want to view
the attachment for disposition. I have checked my Thunderbird
preferences and they are correct. I've attached a screenshot.

Thunderbird version 2.0.0.22 (20090616)
Karmic 2.6.30-10-generic
Gnome 2.27.3
