[Bug 340086] [NEW] Jaunty Alpha 5: Thunderbird does not start

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Installed Ubuntu 9.04 Alpha 5 64-Bit from a CD and did a full update.
Installed Mozilla Thunderbird via Synaptic.

Started Thunderbird without adding any email accounts. Closed
Thunderbird.

Renamed the nameofthunderbirdprofile.default to
nameofthunderbirdprofile.defaultBACKUP. Copied a backed up Thunderbird
profile from my old system to the .mozilla-thunderbird folder. Restarted
Thunderbird. Error message:

Thunderbird is already running. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Thunderbird process, or restart your system.
----

Starting Systemüberwachung, I can see no running process named
"thunderbird" or anything like that.

Rebooting, trying again. Same error message, no Thunderbird start.

Synaptic tells me that I have Thunderbird 2.0.0.19 installed.
