Yes, 438868 describes this bug. But none of the workarounds tossed
around in that bug work for me and it is 100% reproducible after screen
saver lock.

This never happened to me in Karmic, only started in Lucid.

Also this may not be a firefox only bug. When I asked this question in
ubuntu forums, one user reported having this problem in Chrome also.
