As for the bar at the right of your screen, does anything show up when
you right-click any of the squares? In the second screenshot, I don't
know if the screenshot tool left out the window border or not. If there
is no title bar, then can you try running 'metacity --replace' to see if
the title bar shows up?

I'm also marking that this needs reassignment since it seems to be a
problem beyond Firefox.
