[Bug 581674] [NEW] Firefox should have the option to not use libnotify

Binary package hint: firefox

Firefox in Lucid now features tighter integration with the desktop via
libnotify. Unfortunately some plugins (such as the GMail Notifier)
produce incredibly ugly and intrusive notification popups. There should
be an option to use Firefox's internal notification system (even if it
is off by default).
