Dear Draycen DeCator,

A completely new installation of Ubuntu Lucid Lynx on a completely clean
harddisk turns out to be even worse. It´s not only Firefox that is
"jumping" back, but also when playing a DVD by chapters, it jumps back to
the previous chapter after 5 to 6 seconds. Even the pulldownmenu´s are
stepping up and back every few seconds.
I think it must be the machine (PC) itself that causes the troubles,
because Lucid Lynx runs fine and smoothly on my VAIO-laptop.
On the other hand on two other harddisks in the same PC Windows Vista HP
and Windows 7 Ultimate, each system installed on a seperate sata-harddisk
are running without any jumping forwards or backwards.
It must be something with the timer, because Ubuntu sets back the
system-time with 2 hours every time I start it up. From Windows to Ubuntu
the time stays ok.

I give up, will probably never know what is going on, and will stick to
Lucid Lynx on the VAIO.

Ciao for now,
Rob
