Can confirm same behaviour for Firefox 12.0 (from ppa) and Ubuntu 11.10
(upgraded from 11.04).
I must add that Firefox takes too long to startup when launched as
regular user, and throws this warning:
(firefox:13601): Gtk-WARNING **: Unable to locate theme engine in
module_path: "pixmap",
But starts without any delay (nor warning) when launched as root from
cli.
