Same problem with the new mainline kernel

 Timing buffered disk reads:  64 MB in  3.04 seconds =  21.02 MB/sec

Total time: 68.36

~$ sudo hdparm -tT /dev/sda
 Timing cached reads:   244 MB in  2.01 seconds = 121.54 MB/sec
 Timing buffered disk reads:  64 MB in  3.05 seconds =  20.96 MB/sec
