** Description changed:
+ Fix:
+ Discovered a problem with the fglrx install used for the systems installed which demonstated this mouse feature problem limited to Firefox and KDE- interestingly no other GUIs were impacted. Specifically /etc/X11/xorg.conf was incomplete and other problems with the installation. The best solution found was to install another beta variant from the repos or to install the proprietary installer from AMD after first removing any existing fglrx installations. The act of reinstalling the proprietary fglrx or AMD driver seems to have ended the problems with the mouse. Some systems were installed from the 12.04.03 desktop DVD while others from a network install- all seem to have fglrx/AMD driver problems all resolved by a reinstall of fglrx/AMD. We are continuing to research what happened and will provide any updates if they become available. It's been a busy couple months- we have removed all 13* Ubuntu installs due to a high level of problems and lack of support by vendors(hardware and software) and replaced them with 12.04.03.

Seems to be in "KDE" systems and applications and whilst in Firefox on
Gnome and Mate desktops.
What happens is after some varying amount of time the mouse becomes
rather limited as if a it is partially captured.
When in Gnome and using Firefox the limitations only effect the Firefox
program and not others.
The mouse wheel no longer causes the window content to scroll-- to
scroll one must pull down the drag bar-- the up and down arrows don't
work on the scroll bar to the right of the contents window.
The right-click no longer works. The left click allows one to change
selected windows and click in the content window but one cannot select
any of the menu buttons in the main Firefox program. It seems to be
similar to what happens in KDE and KDE programs.
To restore functionality in Firefox exit all instances of Firefox and
restart or sometimes requiring a reboot.
I'm guessing some sort of mouse functions capture but still uncertain.
Tried: xdotool mouse 3 which seemed at first to work to protect the
problem from occuring but it's unreliable at best.
