[Bug 1296860] [NEW] firefox hangs up compete laptop for no apparent reason

Public bug reported:

At various occasions the firefox browser just hangs and not even the mouse pointer responds.
Sometimes after some time there is a message about an irresponsive script. 
Mostly after waiting a lot of minutes and closing firefox it works again.
I do not have this problem on other machines or other os'es.
Don't seem to have the problem in Chromium either.
Seems like a firefox bug to me
