Yes, you got it right : the file generated in Precise plays ok in Firefox (on Precise, Trusty, Windows, Android etc). You can try by yourself by clicking on the attachment.
But the file generated in Trusty does not play on Firefox (at least on Trusty), even if it does in Totem, VLC, and Chromium. You can also try the attachment.

I forgot to mention that the video codec is VP8, and audio codec is
Vorbis
