[Bug 1722289] [NEW] Does not start on a wayland session

Public bug reported:

Testing a fresh installed Firefox on a wayland session:

- hitting the firefox icon on the desktop ends with an error saying that
firefox is already running; but there is no firefox process running in
the background.

- from a terminal "firefox" ends again with the same error.

- "sudo firefox" can start the browser, but get:

I have purged all the related firefox installed packages, then
reinstalled them, but still get the same issue.
