@jdonald Wow (& sound a hats being taken off). 
That really moves the boat forward - well done!
I did wonder what it was that allowed arch to work, and had a hunch that it would be hiding in plain sight in their PKGBUILD file, if only I could understand it.
Thank you for all that work - & your upstream fix intentions!
