Unfortunately, i don`t think the end-users will have much choice on
selecting, reselecting packages to install. But if i`m not mistaken the
Ubuntu itself is a really stripped down Distro which required you to fetch
from their respected repository such as build essentialsx2,  The only
customization that i see that an end-user can used isusing the
Ubuntu-Alterenate installation CD which is as a server or as a
desktop-user...
