[ubuntu-my] Pls tell me how to know if my firestarter is running as a system service

There r all in 4 entries.

   - /bin/bash /usr/sbin/su-to-root -X -c /usr/sbin/firestarter
   - gksu -u root /usr/sbin/firestarter
   - /usr/sbin/firestarter
   - grep firestarter

So, does this mean if i do not see the firestarter icon on my system tray i
m still protector gun?
