I would suggest its use for:
-non intensive graphic usage, say CVS/SVN/Git server
-for your kids playing games.. (means, he/she can use it to the max)
-word processing.
-up to you.

I am currently using it for my research degree. So most of the time I
use it for LaTeX typesettings.
Just bought a new laptop last night so I need to transfer all the
important docs first.

Regarding the detailed specs it's here:

During the 3 yrs warranty, replaced:
-AC adaptor
-battery
-display screen

so can say part of it not as old as it seems :)
