[ubuntu-mythtv] Help with Comcast and Serial IR Blaster

So I have one of those new PACE DTA's from Comcast.  I have purchased one of these http://www.irblaster.info/index.html#RS232_IR


But I find myself with no idea how to set it up.  I have read this page here:

But I am using Mythbuntu on Ubuntu 10.10.  I am not sure that these directions still apply, as this is from an older version and over a year old.  I am also using a Window USB remote control receiver, but it has no transmit option.  Not sure if that complicate something.


Also, these directions are for another remote control, now idea how to set it up with an serial blaster.  It probably doesn't help that I am not super-comfortable in a linux command line, and I see no way to configure this using Mythbuntu Control Center as irblaster is not one of the listed option after I check "Enable IR Transmitter".


So I guess my questions are 
1.Is there a way to setup a Comcast DTA and/or Serial IR Blaster using the Mythbuntu Control Centre
     And if not:

     a.Do the directions at http://regx.dgswa.com/html/Comacast_DTA-and_MythTV still work for Ubuntu 10.10
     and

     b.How do I change those directions to work with a Serial IR Blaster?
