[ubuntu-mythtv] Scripts used for migration

After having a lot of problems with system errors when running using
Gnome (i386) at least for the last 2 years as well as not having access
to 10 - 20 TV channels (with a Hauppauge Nova T-500 card) I have
installed to another partition a fresh 12.4 X64 version using the
default GUI, however I have a lot of recordings and videos and want to
transfer them over.

The recording, videos, music etc are stored via two partitions that are
mounted in xls format.

Now two ideas spring to mind :

1. Backup the database and manually remove all tables not related to
recording or schedules and import them into the new system. The Original
has a large number of rows (table entries) for artist etc, that I will
kill off as it seems to contain empty data other than dates and other
tables relate to the system set up which I do not want to override in
case that is a part of the system errors. In any event the mysql
database is in excess of 150 MB so needs a trim :)

2. Run a modern version of the perl script find.orphans.pl (name is
slightly different) to run on the new system to bring in all of the
recordings (the videos are seen already), the music I will redo if I
really want them.

The problem is I cannot find it. The one I have is for version 0.21
mythtv which is a tad old and in any event I am not sure it will do what
I want.

Anyone with any ideas for the best approach and location of such scripts?

Vince
