=== IoT: Canonical and GE's FirstBuild Collaborate on Smart Refrigerator ===
Canonical announces FirstBuild's showcasing of ChillHub, a community
generated smart refrigerator at the Ubuntu stand at the second annual
Internet of Things on May 12th and 13th. They tell us that ChillHub is
a refrigerator with USB ports and Wi-Fi connectivity, saying: "This is
a first-of-its-kind platform that enables the development of new
hardware products that can operate inside a cooled space."

=== Brendan Perrine: A retrospective look on how I started with Lubuntu ===
Brendan Perrine looks back at his time using computers from starting
with Windows Vista, switching to Lubuntu after rejecting Ubuntu, and
dual booting with Windows 7. He finishes his post by recalling his
joining of the #ubuntu channel on Freenode, testing and filing bugs
against Ubuntu 14.04, and joining the Quality Team.

=== Charles Profitt: Ubuntu Trash Bug ===
Charles Profitt reminds us that Ubuntu has always had bugs but 15.04
is the first version that he will not upgrade to due to a minor bug
that affects him many times each day. He says that when using the
launcher trash icon and selecting "empty trash" a new file manager
window opens, and that the bug bothers him so much that he will not
upgrade.

=== Dustin Kirkland: Ubuntu: Make Wonderful Things Possible! ===
Dustin Kirkland recalls Mark Shuttleworth at a Canonical event in
November 2006 as saying: "Ubuntu make wonderful things possible, for
example, Linux appliance, with Ubuntu preinstalled, we call this --
the fridge!" Dustin says that that tongue-in-cheek parody in no longer
a joke and tells us about the recent collaboration with GE Appliances
and FirstBuild around a smart refrigerator.

Bruce Byfield of Datamation reminds us that over the past 10 years of
Ubuntu Mark Shuttleworth has made calls for cooperation, including at
the recent Ubuntu Online Summit. But with each call the community
questions his motives. Bruce says that most of his calls created
distrust within the community, and he now seems to just focus on
getting his visions finished or in most cases "started" and done with
his leadership.
