Yesterday we had our first IRC meeting after UDS in Copenhagen. To
summarise the entire meeting I think it's okay to say that the meeting
yesterday was more of a startup meeting than anything else. A few
different topics were discussed but no concrete decisions were made
except some prioritising concerning which topics we should continue
discussing on this (ubuntu-nordic) mailinglist.
Meeting minutes
==============
### 0) General comments
Decided to continue to use this (ubuntu-nordic) mailinglist as primary
communication. (https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-nordic)
We keep track of our action items at
https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/community-r-nordic-loco
### 1) Shared hosting/development/website
To focus our energy/time in the different Nordic LoCos their might be
some benefits of merging our websites together. Either by just
combining development resources and host our separate loco websites on
our own, or try to get all LoCos together under the same domain e.g.
ubuntu-nordic.org/fi could show the website in Finnish and
ubuntu-nordic.org/se could show it in Swedish.
The discussion went back and forth on this one and in the end to merge
all websites together into one common is a big undertaking. It's
something we could aim for in the long run but should not strive for
during this cycle. On the technical side there are some hurdles like
which cms and forum software to use. The biggest hurdles are on the
social aspect, all LoCos have good forum activity now and it wouldn't
be wise to destroy that activity. It's important to get some kind of
broad consensus from respective community before a move is made.
Nothing was decided on this except that we will continue to discuss
this in a separate mailinglist thread. (To be created after this email
has been sent)
### 2) IRL meet up during the Raring Ringtail Cycle (before april 2013
in other words)
Some interest in a meet up but most of us had issues with not having
enough sparetime for this.
We will continue to discuss this in a separate mailinglist thread. (To
be created after this email has been sent)
### 3) What should we do with ubuntu-nordic.org and planet.ubuntu-nordic.org
ubuntu-nordic.org has been empty for quite some time.
planet.ubuntu-nordic.org is running an aggregated blog feed from the
nordic LoCos. It was the decided that we leave the planet as it is for
now and put a static page on the www.ubuntu-nordic.org frontpage with
links to respective LoCo.
Knome has created a first draft for this.

### 4) Localised CDs/DVDs
Mirv from the Finnish LoCos has created localised images for the
finnish LoCo for some time [1][2]. It would be great to set up the
scripts and infrastructure to handle all Nordic countries languages.
One idea is also to print all images at the same place with sleeves
and booklets, we could then put all text in black and use
"black-replacement". This would perhaps lower the printing costs. The
finnish LoCo is aiming for printing a couple of images after the next
point release of 12.04.2 in the end of January.
Knome is going to talk with a printing company about price for this.

Please, add anything that you feel is important and that I forgot to
add to this summary.
