[ubuntu-nz] shutdown

I'm currently running 10.04.1 on my laptop (having reinstalled it recently)
and a few days ago it started to do a shutdown (not sure where I could find
the log - if someone could point me in the right direction??)  after about
half an hour every time I use it.

 

Am in the process of doing a cleanup of the fan on the laptop (to address
the possibility of it happening due to overheating) but was wondering if
anyone else has come across a situation where their desktop unilaterally
decides to reboot?
