Hi Luciano,

That may be true for noble onward, but if you look at jammy and focal, where
this package is going, ceph is still very much supported on 32 bit arches.

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ceph/17.2.7-0ubuntu0.22.04.2
https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-security-proposed/+archive/ubuntu/ppa/+build/29860350

ceph 17.2.9 built correctly on all architectures with both -proposed and -updates
with the latest debdiff, riscv finally completed.

This is pretty much ready for uploading now.

I just have one more question.

dpkg-gensymbols created an abnormally large amount of changed symbols, coming
down the inclusion of the vendored boost library for ceph-exporter.

Usually, any symbol changes at all are not allowed, but the very same list of
symbol changes was accepted for 19.2.1-0ubuntu0.24.04.2, so maybe it might be
okay.

I attached the list of new symbols. I will likely ask ROAF tomorrow during
his SRU shift on what we should do with all these symbol changes.

Is the Security team aware we are turning on this vendored boost library? What
happens if there is a CVE in boost and it needs fixing? Will anyone patch ceph?

Thanks,
Matthew

Bug description:
  [Impact]
This release fixes several bugs. We would like to make sure all of our users have access to these improvements.

The update contains the following package updates:

     * ceph 17.2.9
     * Race condition prevention when printing Inode in ll_sync_inode (by Ponnuvel Palaniyappan)

  [Test Case]
The following SRU process was followed:

  https://documentation.ubuntu.com/sru/en/latest/reference/exception-
  OpenStack-Updates/

In order to avoid regression of existing users, the OpenStack team
will run their continuous integration test against the packages that
are in -proposed. A successful run of all available tests will be
required before the proposed packages can be let into -updates.

The OpenStack team will be in charge of attaching the output summary
of the executed tests. The OpenStack team members will not mark
  ‘verification-done’ until this has happened.

  [Regression Potential]
In order to mitigate the regression potential, the results of the aforementioned tests will be attached to this bug.
