The first-ever ICT roadshow for Filipino farmers and agriculture
extension workers will start off on its tour around the country on
March 27.

The roadshow, which will showcase the ICT-based services of the
K-Agrinet (Knowledge Networking Towards Enterprising Agricultural
Communities) project, will begin its Northern and Central Luzon leg
using the mobile ICT classroom buses from the Department of Science
and Technology (DOST).

The buses, which are equipped with internet-connected notebook
computers and audiovisual equipment, will have scheduled stops in the
following areas: Bacnotan, La Union (March 27); Vigan, Ilocos Sur
(March 28); Batac, Ilocos Norte (March 29); Luna, Apayao (March 30);
Tuguegarao, Cagayan (March 31); Ilagan, Isabela (Arpil 3); Palayan
City, Nueva Ecija (April 4); Magalang, Pampanga (April 5); and Sta.
Barbara, Pangasinan (April 6).

The roadshow will feature to farmer cooperatives, extension workers
and local government officials basic ICT training, online consultation
with field experts, and web-based trading.

It will move on to Davao on April 18, Bicol on May 8, and Caraga on May 22.

The K-Agrinet project is a eGovernment-funded umbrella project of the
PhilRice-led Open Academy for Philippine Agriculture; e-Farm and
e-Consortia of DOST-PCARRD; and e-Agrikultura project by DAP and DAR.
