Why do you use Unity?

If your definition of Unity also includes the Dash and Launcher (and 
Indicators and etc...) then, I am afraid, you have to look up all these 
things also, because they are basically treated as different projects.
Concerning the Dash, for example, they are trying to improve the search. 
There are some problems with the facts that
1) the search only finds a string if it is  the beginning of the word, 
but there won't be any result if it is part of the middle of the same word
2) copy and paste (as far as I know, it was an issue)
3) the problem that you can only find files when you have worked with 
them one; thus you will not find files, which you have copied fresh on 
your hard drive, because they haven't been used yet

I think the issues with the launcher are known here but, though I am 
searching on a regular base, I do not find any 
articles/blueprints/whatever which show that anybody is interestend in 
an significant improvement
The only thing I know about the launcher is that Mark Shuttleworth said 
that he wants any icon on it moveable except for the Trash icon


As you see: if you really search for information on detailed plans on 
the Unity development you will find not much. I am also waiting for a 
little bit transparency on that topic. Perhaps we will see more when 
Alpha2 comes out.
