Let's start off on the right foot, let's fix simple-ccsm.

Hi everyone,
I think a good place to start for power users is to have a nice config
tool for Unity. In the archive we have simple-ccsm, which has been
shipped for a long time, and when installed hooked into the appearance
dialog as a config tool. It just needs to be updated to set Unity
configure options instead of the cube, etc.
It lives here: http://git.compiz.org/compiz/compizconfig/simple-ccsm/
Here's what we need:
- Someone to spec up what a Unity config tool would look like, what
it's job is, and what it's supposed to do and not do. Here's an
example of a spec: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SoftwareCenter/
- Someone needs to engage the ayatana community and help with the spec
so we know what the tool should look like and how it should behave.
This discussion all feeds back into the design of the tool (and in the
spec)
- Everyone (this is the hard part) needs to help find Python folks who
can make the modifications and modify the tool to be what the spec
says, including tests, etc.
- Someone needs to start importing the code into launchpad and making
a PPA so people can start testing it as soon as possible.
And I probably forgot things but I figure this is enough to get the
discussion started.
