connecting power users to their tools

Nice thought, but then there might be other groups of users who would
like to have a "gamer" option and so on. I do not think that this is a
feasible approach without opening a can of worms.

I would rather suggest to create a meta package, which then installs
these tools - power users should not have a problem with typing

sudo apt-get install power-user-tools

which then would download and install a suite of selected packages.
