Not sure if this helps, but I'd advise you look in a couple directions
for your problems. I build multiple quicklists, and they're difficult
to debug as you get no warnings to follow when they fail. Some of the
things that have bitten me:

- use full pathname (dont' attempt ~/blah/blah/executable); spell it out fully.
- check spelling and punctuation carefully; eg double forward slashes
or a misplaced will fail the list.
- *carefully* check spelling of all added items; a spelling error (or
a small case that needs a cap) will fail the quicklist silently.
- add your additional menu items -->one-at-a-time<-- so you know
what's failing if it fails :-)
- prototype your option switches in a terminal window to make sure
they work before you plug them into the quicklist
