Quick Lists

Thank you to all the people who replied to my message.

@Mario "Did you try to remove the launcher icon and re-add it after you have
edited the file
(e.g. ~/.local/share/applications/chromium-browser.desktop)?" Yes I did.

@James "What about logging out and logging back in?" I even rebooted the
machine.

@Tom "- use full pathname (dont' attempt ~/blah/blah/executable); spell it
out fully.
- check spelling and punctuation carefully; eg double forward slashes
or a misplaced will fail the list.
- *carefully* check spelling of all added items; a spelling error (or
a small case that needs a cap) will fail the quicklist silently.
- add your additional menu items -->one-at-a-time<-- so you know
what's failing if it fails :-)
- prototype your option switches in a terminal window to make sure
they work before you plug them into the quicklist"

I believe I've checked everything, but obviously there is something I am
missing since I still have problems.
I copied the Chromium code directly from
http://askubuntu.com/questions/35488/list-of-custom-launchers-quicklists-for-unity
(tip
# 14)

I ran the incognito code in a terminal and was able to get it to work using
the full path to Chromium but not the Exec=chromium-browser --incognito
code.

With the Home launcher when I run nautilus Dropbox my Dropbox folder opens
up. It still is not seen as an option when right clicking on the home
launcher though, despite running unity --replace and logging out then back
in.

I don't want to waste more of the lists' time with my particular problem,
Tom if it's OK with you I'd like to email you off-list.

It's not so much about being able to use the custom launchers now (I like
keyboard shortcuts more actually) it's about figuring out why this isn't
working and fixing it :-)

Thank you,

John
