Quick Lists

Don't put them in /usr/share/applications - if you update an application,
then they'll be gone. ~/.local/share/applications is the place to put them.

These should be put in the /usr/share/applications, drag them to launcher
and should be alright. Another place where you can put them, but these are
not system-wide is /home/YourUserName/.local/share/applications.

When you just type in terminal chromium-browser does it launches the
browser?
