auto-hide on by default

I have it set on "Doge Windows" but I know a couple of people who prefer
to set it on "Hide Launcher: Never".

Personally, I think that finding the edge is not that problematic. But I
have a multi-monitor environment and the only problem for me is the fact
that the edge is sometimes really really far away from the mouse pointer ;)

In any way I cannot understand why the launcher is not set on visible by
default (despite the fact that I prefer it configured differently). I
always thought that Ubuntu was going into the direction of a desktop
which heavily relies on a multi-touch interface. But to use the Launcher
on a touch screen it must not be hidden or set to dodge windows or
whatever. Does anybody know why the decision is to have it "Dodge
Windows" by default? Instead of having it set to "visible" (i.e. "Hide
Launcher: Never") ?

(On the other hand the minimize/maximize icons on the top left corner of
the windows are much too small to really use them with a touch screen
and the indicators are, as well, a problem when it comes to a touch
interface. That is one of the reasons why I, sometimes, am not sure, if
all of the decisions made in the development are completely thought
through. And if they are, then I would prefer a little bit more
transparency).
