Intervention time.

1. Lubuntu is, in fact, equivalent to Ubuntu, as Lubuntu is officially
part of the Ubuntu family just as much as Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Edubuntu,
and Mythbuntu, all of which are, as we all know, Ubuntu with a
different default DE and/or different settings and default apps
customized for a particular purpose.

2. While the beta may not be a final product, note that he acknowledges
that and goes on to comment about prior experiences going from one
main version to another. I second his opinion in this in that I have
*never* had a perfectly smooth upgrade, and often end up reinstalling
to fix things that seem otherwise unfixable.

3. While the point included the idea that OS X upgraded smoother, it
said so in comparison to Linux, which, given the context, likely
refers to Ubuntu at least in part. This echoes the sentiments
expressed in point 2 and my own thoughts as well.

Brushing off the problem doesn't mean that it doesn't exist.
