Apology and a question

Hi Folks,

The other day my Gmail account was compromised and I (or my account that 
is) spammed everyone in my address book.  I apologize for the annoyance.

I have a question regarding 11.10.  Does anyone know how to get little 
flags to show up in the keyboard language indicator instead of en and 
(in my case) sv?

I found some information online but so far can't seem to get the flags 
to appear.
