Multi-window applications are a menace. Other than the much-decried GIMP,
Empathy, Tomboy, Skype, and LibreOffice (with its floating toolbars) are
multi-window applications that desperately need to be made single window.
Skype, of course, is closed source, but as for the rest, this is a demand
I've seen echoed time and time again. I have seen mockups of a single-window
Empathy but nothing came out of it. There is something to be said for
focusing on functionality over form, but Empathy doesn't really have that
either.
