Mario, welcome back :-) The first beta for ubuntu hasn't actually
happened yet ;-) It will release next week. Check out our wiki area and
browse around:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam
We test on 2 week cadences typically now.. That is, every 2 weeks we
pick out things to focus on testing and have milestones in the
qatracker. In addition, there are launchpad projects for contributing
testcases (manual or automated). All of these activities have some
walkthroughs (text and perhaps video) to help you get started. I'm sure
you've used the isotracker in the past ;-)

Have a look at this week's cadence testing efforts;

In particular if your hoping to help with iso's, plan to test during the
beta iso next week -- it will be the first ubuntu iso produced this
cycle! That said, the daily images can all be tested now, and it would
be good practice (and helpful testing!) to try some iso tests out this
week as part of our cadence testing.
Thanks for contributing!
Nicholas
