Hi Barry,

I've been learning and researching things. First up, I am using  Lubuntu
alternate i386. I don't recall seeing a "live cd" option there. Thanks for
the link to set nomodeset - on my travels I did come across that. If you
have a look at previous messages, you should see that I have reported the
hardware specs.
