Spoke too soon. Managed to crash/freeze the system whilst moving a terminal
window that had top running in it.

I thought it might be a WiFi bug. Now I think it might be a graphics bug.

I'm not feeling very well at the moment.

I will, however, accept suggestions on how to isolate this bug.
