There is a livecd-rootfs MP at 
https://code.launchpad.net/~edubuntu-dev/livecd-rootfs/+git/livecd-rootfs/+merge/437174 
that is ready for review. as for debian-cd, I'll take a look if you 
don't beat me to it.
