Since it is the language we can set at the gdm login screen, it's the LANGUAGE - not LANG - environment variable that may be overwritten (LP: #553162). Code in Xsession.in changed accordingly.

The proposed code change meets the request by YunQiang Su in bug 553162, comment #27.

The $LC_MESSAGES variable makes programs that don't recognize $LANGUAGE, e.g. Firefox, display menus and messages in the expected language.
