Such fixes should go upstream and then be imported to Ubuntu via upstream releases. It doesn't make sense to patch upstream release just to fix a typo.

For future:

- This package uses a patch system, so use patches instead of modifying the code in-place.
- Submit merge proposals against lp:ubuntu/packagename (i.e. lp:ubuntu/xkeyboard-config).
- The version number next to -1ubuntu1 is -1ubuntu2.
- You should use your real e-mail address in changelog entries.
