This bug has not seen any activity for a long time. Is it still an issue
in Bionic (18.04)? Is it only specific to amule?

Amule is not one of the seeded Ubuntu Studio packages, so I am reluctant
to spend too much time on this old bug, and concentrate on one of the
newer bugs.
