This updates the code to use Python 3 instead of Python 2. It does not attempt compatibility for both at the same time.

It may not be appropriate to merge this depending on the availability of Python 3 on the system that actually runs the script in production. I prepared this to more easily work on the script locally though, so it's here for any future needs.
